The Easiest Way to Layer Your Necklaces Like a Pro

The Easiest Way to Layer Your Necklaces Like a Pro

Layered necklaces can really level up your accessory game but it's trickier than it looks to get the right combination. Here's how to master layering in three easy steps.

Step 1: Choose your layers

Start by choosing necklaces that are similar chain diameter. That will give your layers a cohesive, planned look. Thinner chains are easiest to layer and won't overwhelm you. Differing lengths are key–if possible, choose a few that have adjustable lengths so you can make them longer or shorter to line up correctly. Lariats are great because they're often completely adjustable and add lots of length.

Step 2: Start with a choker

Step 3: Add mid length layers

Step 4: Continue layering

To finish, add longer layers and start doubling up existing layers until you feel like you have enough.

Add a second (or third) choker and more long layers. Again, keeping the chain weights fairly uniform will help keep everything balanced. Shashi necklace (similar) & Rebecca Minkoff Evil Eye Lariat Necklace
